Skin Care For Acne Step 3: Treating Acne ScarsHey guys, let’s just say in the past, you had some mild acne, maybe some more severe acne, you finally got that resolved and now you’re left with terrible acne scars. If you’re watching this video, just know you’re not alone because it was my most highly requested video topic and I took some time to make it because I wanted to make sure we got all the information right the first time. Let’s get started, I want to try to cramp this all in under 10 minutes. First off let’s talk about some of the causes of acne scars. They are pretty unpredictable in general, they may just occur as a result of having acne but some of the most serious acne scars occur as a result of overall manipulation. Maybe you had acne and you really had very poor self control, you couldn’t stop yourself from picking poking and popping pimples. Maybe the acne was coming on faster than your skin could actually handle, and it just causes your skin to kind of break down and left you with some terrible scars. In general, it doesn’t matter how you got it. It’s a painful thing to experience and we want to make sure you can resolve that also just like you resolved your acne. In general the most important thing for healing your acne scars is just time. They will eventually go away on their own especially some of the more mild types of acne scars. But I’m going to talk about some of the things you can do on your own to help accelerate scar healing and also some of the professional treatments that are available but you may want to consider, they’re going to be very expensive. So just weigh out the benefits and the negative each one.
Is Vitamin E Good For Acne? The first thing I want to address is vitamin E. People seem to think that vitamin E is the cure-all in vitamin when it comes the scar healing, whether it’s on your body or on your face. Now I want to let you know that vitamin E is not what you should be using to cure and heal your acne scars. I did a little research on this and there have been independent research done that shows vitamin E actually is detrimental to scar healing. It can make it worse, it does not improve how quickly the scar will heal and it doesn’t make the end result any better than other treatments. So just drop vitamin E, stop taking those capsules and breaking them open and smear on your face. It’s not what you want to do. No, that’s out of the way. Let’s talk about the different types of acne scars. They can range from pretty mild redness and inflammation, to a little bit more moderate discolorations like brown or purple marks, finally to the most severe which would be physical changes in your skin like pitting, changes in the texture that you can actually feel. The most mild form of acne scars which was the inflammation, will go away on its own but it’s going to take anywhere from 6 to 12 months. You must have patience and, in the meantime, the best thing you can do is don’t make it worse. Just treat your skin good, have a good skin care routine, protect your skin from the sun, which can cause exacerbations of your acne scars, and let time do its work. Sun exposure and sun damage will make your acne scars worse. It’s very important to wear sunscreen every day, as if I haven’t said it a thousand times, and just follow a good skin care routine in general. Using good face wash, use a good moisturizer every day and every night, and keep your skin hydrated so it can do its work. I don’t want to dwell too much on the mild types of acne scars because there really isn’t too much you can do for them except let time do its work. If you do have discolorations so we’re talking about brown or purple marks there are some things that you can do on your own. You might want to look into chemical exfoliants and I’ve talked about them before.
Chemical Exfoliants For Acne ScarsChemical exfoliants are things like BHA also known as salicylic acid, or AHA, alpha hydroxy acid also known as glycolic acid. These chemical exfoliants will promote cellular turnover which is basically a natural function of skin but the exfoliant causes it to occur faster so you’re going to be stripping off the top layers of your skin, encouraging your skin to produce new cells, and you know, promote cellular turnover. I don’t know how else to explain it. There are some excellent products available in the market. My favorite one is by Paula’s Choice. I’m just putting it out there for the fiftieth thousand time. Their BHA AHA products are awesome and they will be beneficial to your skin whether you still have acne, active acne or whether you’re just trying to combat your acne scars. So again that was the BHA, beta hydroxy acid, and AHA. Both of those are chemical exfoliant. Also you can look into mechanical exfoliant. It’s things like scrubs, maybe a washcloth that you used to gently scrub your face, morning and night or a face brush that again, it’s the same thing you’re just gently removing the dead skin cells from the outermost layers of your skin. That’s going to do the same thing in terms of promoting a faster turnover rate in your skin.
Professional Treatments For Acne ScarsIf you want to look for professional help, you can always go to a spa or salon and see an aesthetician, someone that specializes in skin care and you can try a microdermabrasion. If you do go to a spa or a salon, the aesthetician will give you a very superficial microderm, that’s something that’s important to know. Aestheticians can’t take off very many layers of skin because they’re not licensed like a practitioner is. The microderm is much more intense than anything you could do on your own, but it takes off a couple more layers of skin and really causes that healing process to occur, hopefully revealing younger more healthy skin on underneath layers. If you want to go for a more serious like microdermabrasion, you can see a practitioner who will go much deeper than an aesthetician will, they’ll have specific instructions on things that you need to do in order to protect your skin afterwards but it’s going to be a little bit faster than what you would get at the spa. If you do decide to choose microdermabrasion, it’s important to keep it on a regular basis like once a month and protecting your skin afterwards is incredibly important because your skin is going to be very vulnerable to the damaging effects of the sun and ultraviolet light. Finally, moving on to the most serious form of acne scars, I’m talking about pitting and changes in the texture of your skin. Most of the time, your best option is going to be available from an actual dermatologist or a practitioner of some sort. Laser therapy is the number one treatment when it comes to treating acne scars but it’s incredibly expensive in the thousands and thousands of dollars per treatment. What that will do is it actually uses a very specific laser to damage the outermost layers of your skin and really promote the growth of a perfectly normal and healthy skin underneath. It is one of those things that takes multiple treatments but at the end of the day your skin is worth it. Skin is your largest organ in your body, it will boost your confidence and it’s something that you might want to look into more seriously. I always want to make this clear though you don’t want to make your acne scars worse. So if you still do have active acne don’t be popping them or picking at them. Just let your skin heal. Follow some of my other advice in terms of building a really good skin care routine and let time do its job. Some other professional treatments that might be available include acid peels which are different from the chemical exfoliants I was talking about earlier. Acid peels are going to be much more intense, again they’re going to go it’s all about accessing those deeper layers of your skin and causing much more damaged which will allow your skin to rejuvenate itself. All that kind of stuff must be administered by an actual practitioner or microderm or dermatologists because they are very risky and there’s very precise timing involved with it.
In ConclusionJust know that regardless of what the products available over-the-counter claim, there is no miracle ingredient for treating your acne scars. Vitamin E is not going to do it. You just have to treat your skin good, use some things that cause exfoliation, whether it’s a chemical or mechanical option, and potentially seek professional help if you have serious acne scars. I apologize because that’s it. That’s all available in market and it is a very unfortunate thing, acne scars can be very painful to have and you can experience very poor self-esteem. But just by you watching this video, you’re already taking the next step into healing yourself and getting a better skin. So check out some of my other videos. If you’re new to this whole thing about acne skin care, you can build a routine, you can learn a lot. So thanks for watching guys. I really hope that helped you a little bit and just clarify some things as you try to resolve your acne scars. Alright, take care.

Hey guys, this is the video you have been waiting for. This is the first video in a series on skin care for acne. Now, this topic was highly requested. I want you to know that if you’re watching this video, you are not alone. Acne is such a common problem and some people are just better covering up than others. Keep in mind, it is not a one-size-fits-all thing. Many products on the market today are just labelled as one-size-fits-all treatment. And in my opinion that is not the right way to treat acne. Every person is an individual, every situation is going to be different and the cause of the situation is going to be different. That’s why we’re starting off today with identifying the type of acne you have and identifying the causes behind that acne. The battle against acne can be extremely painful, both emotionally and physically. My advice is going to be more geared toward mild to moderate acne. If you do have severe cystic acne (cystic acne is the type that is very painful, hard, nodes underneath of the skin), you should absolutely talk to your doctor. Only prescription strength products are going to be appropriate for treating severe cystic acne. So, keep that in mind, if you have mild to moderate problems, that’s okay, that’s why I’m here to help you. If you have more serious problems, you should absolutely talk to your doctor. The best part about this video is that – it is totally free. I enjoy doing this. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with people. Take it for what it’s worth, empower yourself with the knowledge and you really will be able to help yourself. Let’s get started. We’re going to talk about identifying the cause of your acne and identifying the type of that you have.
Identifying The Types Of AcneI generally put it into three different categories: 1) blackheads; 2) whiteheads, or the more serious 3) papules and pustules. 1) Blackheads are relatively easy to take care of. You might see them around your nose, around your chin area, sometimes on your cheeks. They’re not too common to have blackheads on your forehead. Maybe on your back a little bit but mostly on your face. What happens with the blackhead is you have a pore or a hair follicle that is clogged. It’s as simple as that. Now what is your pore clogged with? Well, it could be a couple of different things. It could be excess oil, which is called the sebum. It could be dirt and dust from the environment. It could be dead skin cells. Our skin is constantly renewing itself and shedding these old layers. If those skin cells aren’t able to come out and just fall off, then they’re going to be stuck in your pores and they could really cause some trouble. With a blackhead, that oil, those dead skin cells are trapped in there but it is still open to the air. Air can get in and what happens is that air oxidizes the oil in the pore. It’ll start off changing to a yellowish colour, brown and the longer you let it go, it might even turn black which is where the name comes from. 2) Now moving on to whiteheads. The very similar situation, it’s a clogged pore or a clogged hair follicle but it is not open to the air. It is actually closed off so when you can see that actual whitehead, you’re actually looking at that oil. Those dead cells that are trapped underneath the layers of your skin, at this point there’s no infection. 3) When you do start to get an infection underneath of your skin, then it moves on to a more serious type of acne called papules and pustules. Papules are a little bit deeper under the skin. They do not have a head and they’re generally tend to be painful when you push on them. You might see some redness, some swelling of the skin around it. Pustules are the same thing except they’re a little bit more towards the surface and they do have a head. What’s happening on your skin there, is there’s that trapped oil, that traps sebum as we call it. And there’s special bacteria under the skin that actually feeds on that oil and the dead skin cells. This triggers an immune response from your body, so it starts sending white blood cells to attack that bacteria and eat it up basically. You’ll see the swelling, the redness that I talked about, and it can be a little bit painful too. This is more of a problem generally for people, because it can be cover a large surface area. You got to keep that in mind. Why I put them in these three categories is because we treat them all differently, which is going to be another video, but figure out what you have and you might have a combination of whiteheads, blackheads and then the more serious infected papules and pustules.
Identifying The Causes Of AcneNow that we know about the three different types, let’s talk about the three different, the multiple causes of acne we already know that an excess oil production can cause acne, so that is generally a hormone imbalance. It’s very common in teens and even some young adults. If you have hormones that are triggering your body to produce more oil than it can handle, you’re going to see some acne. Another common thing that I see is acne that is localized to certain areas on your face. Some people see or just around their chin, maybe under their jaw line, or on the edge of their hairline. Think about what you do during the day. Do you sit at your desk with your hand on your chin? There’s oil and bacteria and dirt on your hands. If you’re physically putting that on your face, you’re going to cause some trouble, so keep that in mind. Something similar to that I see is for younger females on their neck and their upper back. If you have hair that’s up in a ponytail, is your hair dangling down and are brushing up against your skin? There’s a lot of natural oils and grease that is in the hair and that can absolutely cause some trouble on your upper back. It happened to my sisters and I was able to identify right off the back. Her hair was in the ponytail. It was touching her upper back and she had a localized spot of acne just because of her hair. You got to look at every, your situation in particular, and figure out is it because you touch your face, do you pick your face without thinking about it, is your hair long, is it touching your back and the grease clogging your pores? Everyone’s going to be a little bit different, but generally, if it is truly a hormonal imbalance, there’s a couple of different things I’m going to address in future videos of how to take care of that acne.

The post Skin Care For Acne Step 1 By Ross appeared first on 10acne.com. from https://10acne.com/skin-care-for-acne-step-1/ How To Pop A PimpleCan touch in your face somehow cause the spread of acne? The answer to that is a very simple, yes ~ no ~ maybe. Okay so you have a pimple right here and you want to pop it, great, should you or shouldn’t you? Mostly you shouldn’t because the truth is that though popping a pimple, possibly might get rid of it a tiny bit faster. It’s a much bigger possibility that you will cause unintentional damage and spread the problem even more. It sorts of makes sense that popping a pimple will open up the blockage and release everything that’s trapped below, right? Wrong. It could have that effect if you are extraordinarily careful but more than likely what will end up happening is that you will inadvertently spread the infection and this is why. If you apply too much pressure onto the skin, what you’re really doing is pushing that build-up of oil and bacteria down, which causes pressure, the bacteria spread all through your skin and suddenly, what was one contained problem has now multiplied into multiple, not so contained problems. In addition, picking at your skin has a huge potential of causing scarring and I’m talking about permanent scarring. So don’t do it. What Dr. Ava, you ask, I just have a single whitehead and I’ve got a really hot date. What am I gonna do? Okay, in that case because a whitehead isn’t inflammatory, you might be okay if you do it properly. Here’s what I mean, you take a warm washcloth, you hold it on to the pimple. That will soften up the rice krispy top. Then very gently, take two q-tips and apply a little bit of pressure, just so that little whiteness comes out. Afterward, you can put a little soap and water on it followed by hydrogen peroxide, some salicylic acid or even a tiny bit of toothpaste. You can take that off and put your makeup on before you go on your hot date. That’s how you pop a pimple. Caution: If your acne is more than just a simple occasional whitehead, steer clear of popping or picking at it. You’re much better off seeing a dermatologist. But adult acne is just more proof that life is full of surprises but don’t despair, you can do something about it. Aside from being absolutely horrifying, breakouts in adult women behave a bit differently than they did in our teens where acne popped up anywhere. Adult acne tends to cluster along the jawline, chin, neck and chest. In fact, the numbers of women getting adult acne is increasing rapidly. One in five adult women suffer from acne. Why is that? Stress. We’ve become the ultimate multitaskers. All of this stress leads to increased cortisol levels. Cortisol is produced by the adrenal gland in response to stress. Our bodies used to produce it only in moments of imminent danger. Now it’s just an integral part of our daily lives. Number #1. Here’s a speedy spot treatment that can help make a blemish look less angry right away. First cleanse with hydrogen peroxide, then ice it until the skin is chilled. Finally, apply a dab of cortisone and wait 2-3 minutes. You should look better within the hour. Number #2. This anti acne regimen is straightforward but needs to be tailored to your skin type. A gentle cleanser twice a day, a salicylic acid moisturizer with SPF in the morning and at night at benzoyl peroxide product plus moisturizer. Number #3. Manage your stress. Establish a routine, exercise, eat well, meditate, going to bed and getting up at the same time, take care of yourself like you would a child. The rest of the pieces of the puzzle will fall into place and you will watch your acne vanish. Number #4. Choose what you eat, switch to a low glycemic diet, which means no packaged foods with ingredients you can’t pronounce, or ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup. We all know the value of changing to a diet that our bodies were designed for ~ proteins, fruits, vegetables, not donuts. Number #5. Finally, if your acne is painful and cystic doesn’t clear, or is leaving you with indented scars or brown spots, please see a dermatologist or healthcare professional to prevent permanent damage. The post 20% Adult Women Suffer From Acne – Dr. Ava Shamban appeared first on 10acne.com. from https://10acne.com/adult-acne-in-women/ What Is Acne & How To Get Rid Of It ForeverAcne, acne, acne, what is acne anyway? Now, there are a lot of different types of acne, acne mechanica, acne fulminans, pyoderma faciale, acne conglobata, consort acne, pomade acne, acne rosacea, but the most common form of acne, the one that we generally refer to when we simply say acne is “acne vulgaris”. These are the blackheads and the whiteheads and the bright-red pimples that torment us in our teenage years that sometimes turn into papules, pustules, nodule, cysts. That may sound like a lot of fancy doctor to “blah blah blah” but what’s actually happening inside your skin is really quite simple, kind of. All you really need to know is that your skin is constantly shedding dead cells, it’s the natural way that our skin breathes and rejuvenates itself. Some of those dead skin cells get out through your body through tiny little holes called “pores”. People, everybody hates their pores. People talk about them non-stop these pores are connected to the oil glands through a canal called a “follicle”. These oil glands produce a greasy substance called “sebum” which is your body’s own natural moisturizer that lubricates your skin. Trouble begins when the process slows down and the oil and the skin cells clump together and clog the pore, blocking the pathway out. Think of it like here in your shower drain, clogged or not, your body doesn’t just stop creating more oil or skin so. What happens is that instead of going out, all that oil builds up underneath which pushes out the skin, creating the bump or pimple that we all read. Acne goes into full bloom when the bacteria notice Propionibacterium-acne jumps onto the scene. To fight this mob, your immune system rushes bacteria fighting your white blood cells to the scene and the unfortunate side effect all of this is a reddening of the skin in the affected areas. So what does it look like? It looks like a volcanic explosion, like a pizza gone bad. So just imagine, when you have acne, what’s really actually going on is an epic power struggle between your immune system, bacterial cells, clogged pores. Nothing can get free. That’s the simplest way to understand it. Acne Tips: No 1. Use an acne skincare routine twice a day. Every day for the years you have acne. No 2. Ideally your skin routine should contain some combination of benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic acid. No 3. Use a moisturizer. All acne treatments are drying to the skin and you will have a reflux oiliness unless you use a lightweight moisturizer. No 4. Try some do-it-yourself acne remedies such as plain Greek yogurt, mixed with a spoonful of honey, apply it to your face. Another option is playing egg yolk. For more recipes, see my book Heal Your Skin and… No 5. If your acne is severe and is not going away, don’t waste any time, go see your dermatologist. The post Dr. Ava Shamban Tells You What Is Acne, How To Get Rid Of It Forever appeared first on 10acne.com. from https://10acne.com/what-is-acne-how-to-get-rid-of-it/ Exposed Skin Care, Reviewed by RachelleHello everyone, this is Rachelle and today I want to bring you guys a new skincare line that I’ve been trying it out. It’s a brand called Exposed Skin Care and here, it is here, and it come to a plethora of things for me to try out. It is for acne prone skin. The thing I like about this brand is that they do try to include some natural elements in it. Some tea tree oil, witch hazel and I think peppermint oil so I did appreciate that. I feel like it’s gentle enough for older skin and like teenage skin. I’m not sure how would we do with more severe cases but it says on packaging it works for that as well. I believe just more of the product would need to be applied. So anyway I want to introduce you to everything I’ve been used and let you know my thoughts on it. So let’s here we go. And by the way guys, they have like a one-year money-back guarantee. Okay? So a whole year to try this. There’s something go wrong, you know you can get your money back. Listen, actually less expensive than what I normally use and I do normally use a different brand but it just so happened that I was on my last leg of vets. I was like, there goes fall back again. But I was contacted by this company to review their brand. So, okay that’s right on time. This is how your product will come to you if It is something that you’re interested in ordering. That comes with a little information graphic here (Quick Start Guide). It tells you how to prevent acne and things like that. Things with kind of new but some of you may or may not know for instance, change your pillowcase, drink plenty of water, avoid sugar and dairy (that’s a big one for me), keep your hands out of your face, when you sweat, wash it off. it’s not a skincare line just for your face. Five people have the acne on their shoulders and back, and they have included a body wash just for you. It is still has the active ingredient in there – Salicylic Acid. The thing about it is it’s in a much lower percentage so won’t be harsh on your body. By the way guys, click the link below and use promo code freebodywash127 and they’ll throw this body wash in free with any $40 purchase. Okay guys, let’s get crazy with these products super quick. They have the Exposed Facial Cleanser, the clearing toner or it says Clearing Tonic but it’s a toner, Acne Treatment Serum, a Clear Pore Serum, a Microderm Scrub. And it has like this, the exfoliating cloths and I spoke to you guys about these before in another acne video. So I know how helpful these can be. Ah guys, I can’t speak for every product in this box because I haven’t used it the product in the box. I’m going to talk to you about what I have used and what I like. Now three products that I have used to be facial cleanser, the clearing tonic or toner basically, what is, and the clear pore serum. I use the facial cleanser and again the main ingredient Salicylic Acid, but it’s in a lower concentration. Salicylic Acid in this facial cleanser is 0.5%. As Pro-Vitamin B5, sage extract, like a lot of the acne washes, you’re going to feel it, you feel a little tightness after you have used up, you dry your skin. I didn’t feel that at all with any of these products. In fact, it somehow my skin felt more moisturized. And the next one that I want to talk to you about is a clearing tonic. Love this and it’s basically a toner and this one has the green tea extract, passion flower and Azelaic Acid. It has a little bit more of the Salicylic Acid in there. So this has 1% but even still is less than what I normally use. This is the clear pore serum, Salicylic Acid acne treatment. And it has a licorice root, green tea extract and meadowsweet. Alright, and you know what you have like the clogged pores of the, I guess blackheads what they are, you know strips, rip it out. That hurts, doesn’t that? It hurts, okay? So I wanted to try this and see if it would help clear out the pores stuff and I did find it did. I noticed about maybe a 75% reduction overnight. I’ll tell you why. I have a new certain ones too. One in particular, the acne treatment serum. Okay? I feel like it works. It does when I use it once by accident because I was enjoying the rest of the stuff that I was using and I saw this bag in the box. And I was oh I forgot to use this on, why had I not use, without realizing I set it aside because it has an ingredient in there my skin is not happy with – Benzoyl Peroxide. So like I said, not thinking, I picked it up and I had a little something coming in and I want to put this, use it as a treatment. Didn’t realize ahead Benzoyl Peroxide in it and my face swollen up. But it’s not this product. Can be just the ingredient in general. All we knew that, it worked, I mean take the bomb away but like I said can’t use that. You have a product that can’t really speak on, it’s a microderm scrub. I didn’t use it because I already have a nice exfoliating system that I’m using, I want to talk to you about that too. So I didn’t have a chance to use this but I probably will at some point and the Derm-X Cloth, I already have this and I know this works well. So in the brand call Exposedskincare.com, I hope you guys have enjoyed this honest review as always. I put links and promo code all the stuff below. Oh yeah guys, hope you guys have enjoyed the review. Questions, comments, concerns, do leave them below and I’ll see you on the next one and thank you so much to Exposed for sending me this wonderful skincare line. Do appreciate it. Thank you so much now. See you guys on the next one and talk to you soon, bye.
The post Exposed Skin Care, Reviewed by Rachelle, BorderHammer appeared first on 10acne.com. from https://10acne.com/exposed-skin-care-reviewed-by-rachelle/ Face Cleansing Brush For AcneThe best way to keep acne away from the face is by keeping the face clean and free of dirt, oil and makeup all the time. What we have seen however, is that no matter how people try to achieve this, they often fail because there is no guarantee that impurities will not hang around the pores. These impurities are always present because they are usually unreachable when we clean the face with our hands, sponges, washrags, etc. Your face deserves all the tender, loving care you can give it, because it is the principal makeup of your body and by a large extent, it determines the essence of your body. One important tool that you need to give your face the perfect care it deserves and keep it clean, exfoliated, smooth and glowing is the facial cleansing brush. Facial cleansing brushes are one of the essential skin care tools for the treatment of acne and for clean, radiant skin. Our exposure to dirt on a daily basis leaves a ton of it on our face and our body. While our clothes cover much of the dirt that falls on our skin, no piece of fabric actually covers the face and this is why it is important that one take proper care to ensure it is dirt and germs free. Usually, when acne settles on a face, dermatologists find a hard time suggesting medications, as they may be a dip in a wild pool. They believe proper care can prevent any skin ailment and this is why they suggest ways to get your skin better without necessarily resorting to medication.
How Do Facial Cleansing Brushes Work?A face brush allows dead skin exfoliate faster and allows the production of more collagen that will give a tighter skin. The face brush removes any oil or debris that blocks your pores and will allow medication and other cosmetic applied on the skin penetrate through the pores. Acne is generated subcutaneously and this leaves us with no much option to prevent them. In essence, it is necessary to try to take care of acne and do not allow it foster from the outside. There may be drugs to combat acne subcutaneously, but dermatologists have continued to make it clear that heredity and excess secretion of sebum are major factors that affect acne formation. The facial brush is a very vital tool because it is gentle on the skin and is naturally designed to tackle bacteria formation. It creates a massaging effect on the spots where it is applied, while it promotes blood circulation as well as increased generation of collagen and are perfect for the most sensitive skin because they are smooth, soft and silky. Facial brushes are especially perfect for the removal of makeup, environmental pollutants and dirt that aids the formation of acne on the face. While all of the benefits of the facial brush are targeted in one direction, it should be noted that there are precautions that should be considered strongly so that it can yield the best results as desired.
Precautions While Using Facial Cleansing BrushesThe most important precaution is to ensure that you purchase a dermatologist-designed facial cleansing brush. Buying another type of brush and using such in place of facial brush is the first signal of a disaster waiting to happen. It is imperative that you check the bristles of the facial brush and you should likewise ensure that it is dermatologically tested. After the purchase of the brush, there are a few other things to note so you can get the maximum desired results from using the facial brush. 1. Before you use the facial brush, endeavor to wash your face with acne treatments before using the brush for the first time. This will reduce irritation. 2. Use the brush once or twice weekly and slowly build up the frequency of using it. 3. You can use the facial brush everyday if you have normal skin. If you have sensitive skin, once or twice a week should be maintained even after the initial stages. 4. After each cleansing, make sure you apply topical medications to your face.
Taking Care Of Your Facial Cleansing BrushThere are precautions that have to do with the care for the facial brush. They are listed below: 1. The facial brush should be cleaned with soap and water or alcohol to prevent acne build-up in the brush. 2. After cleaning the brush, place it in a microwave for a few seconds to kill bacteria and other germs. 3. Do not use the brush on active acne, pimple and open wounds. If care is not taken, this will lead to the spread of infections. 4. The facial brush should never be used in combination with a chemical exfoliating agent. 5. The best time to use the facial brush is at nighttime. Then, all of the sebum, pollutions and dirt from the day will be washed off together. 6. Use the facial brush with a gentle facial cleanser i.e. those with a balanced PH and those that are fragrance free. 7. Avoid sharing your facial brush with friends and family. One brush is meant for your use alone and this is why it is advisable that you carry it along with you wherever you go. User experiences with facial brushes are varying but largely, they yield desired results. When you start using any facial brush, your skin might flare within the first 2 weeks. This is because the dead skin cells will become opened up and because there will be fewer dead skin cells to exfoliate; your skin will flare up. What you need to do, is to reduce its usage because continued usage of the facial brush can lead to broken capillaries, irritation, redness, sensitivity and excessive dryness and these signs are not good at all. The only way to control them is to desist from using the facial brush at that time. A visit to your dermatologist will confirm what went wrong and necessary ways to address it is.
